English Camps

Teaching English through arts and crafts, music, dance, math, public speaking, sports and many other extracurricular activities. Also fostering environmental awareness and cross-cultural learning.

forPEACE English Summer Camps are two-week camps for children from kindgertarten to middle school age. Keeping with the idea that summer should be fun, English is taught through arts and crafts, music, dance, math, public speaking, sports and many other extracurricular activities as an alternative to rigid book work and worksheets. Camps also foster environmental awareness and cross-cultural learning.

English immersion summer camps have taken place at a community center in Nazareth since 1999 run by Kamel Barghouti, the volunteer community center director, and his assistant, Elias Haddad. In 2012 was the first year forPEACE collaborated with Barghouti and Haddad. forPEACE implemented curriculum and arranged for volunteer camp counselors from the United States, Germany, Nigeria and Israel.

Peace Building through English Summer Camps

The 2013 Nazareth Summer Camp theme, “English is Your Passport to the World” begins to describe the experiences by campers and counselors alike. Not only do the children learn English and gain global awareness, but they also learn peaceful and respectful communication skills. Our counselors come from all over the world and learn from the children, host families and the community while they teach English utilizing their various skills.
